S.Webb states, in part: "Upon seeing [this book] in print, the Chief desired a good many amendments: the spellings had been taken from his own manuscripts; but, upon further reflection, he wished to modify certain words. I have made the necessary alterations in this copy." Most of the corrections and additions are contained in three pages of hand printed notes following the text.
